Once we had kids, we started alternating between each other’s houses. It’s at my place every three years. It seems to have worked well for us.

Well , why don’t you plan to have them come to you for a change?
We have a night with my Father/Step Mom and 2 Step Sisters (We take turns between my house, my sisters, my step sisters and my dads house for this event), a night with my Mom, Sister and her family either at my house or my sisters house (we only live 10 minutes from each other) and then we do Christmas eve and day with my wife/kids and mother in law since she lives with us.

I hear ya. We have seven grandparents with four sets of holiday traditions. So far, it’s been all about the travel to various climes and locales to make each one happy — I think we’re transitioning to having Christmas here in San Francisco. Making our own traditions!

I realised just the other day that its the start of the silly busy season too myself
On Thursday and Friday Im helping with 2 end of the school year in New Zealand school trips, then theres a thank you dinner with the youth group to help with, then theres Christmas in the Park that I help with, just the start Im sure
