Being a dad of an abusive teen is something else. My son was so abusive to my wife and I we just did not know what to do anymore. Thankfully we got answer to blogs like these.

Geocaching. It does cost a bit if you don't have a hand-held GPS, but honestly, completely worth it. And once you have the GPS it doesn't cost anything! Visit www.geocaching.com for more info.

We're the same way. Wife is at home with the kids. I work a ton of overtime and my father lives with us just so we can make ends meet.

This past weekend we did our first family movie night. It was a great success. I did a blog about it earlier this week if you want to see how it went.

We do the home made pizza and movie night too. Also, Ohio State has a lot of sporting events that are free. The Columbus Museum of Art used to be free admission on Sundays. Sometimes there are free events at the Ohio Expo Center. I think they have quarter midget races and some other events. There are a lot of free things to do in Columbus, you just have to look! =)

Some of the simple things are Friday night movie nights--home made pizza, some popcorn and a rented movie (or one we already own and have seen no fewer than 1300 times!) Or taking advantage of zoo and COSI memberships.

I suppose intimate family time, in the end, is worth more than anything.
