2010 Vacation – Outer Banks, NC

Again this year we went to the Outer Banks for vacation.  We had a great time!  There were eight adults that went so we were able to split the cost and rent a really nice beach house!

Our Vacation Rental House At The Outer Banks

To get to the house you had to drive eight miles on the beach!  There were no roads to get to the house.  If you ever go to this part of the Outer Banks make sure you do your research and only attempt to drive on the beach at low tide.  😀  We got stuck twice on the way to the house and had to be pulled out both times.  😀

But, once we made it to the house we were able to relax in the pool and hot tub…

And our house was also in the Wild Horse Reserves, so there were wild horses everywhere!  They came right up to our house and even slept in our back yard…

we went there once and had a great time in the water despite the constant warnings of sharks. Anyhow, would absolutely return, it’s a beautiful part of the country

Gordy, shoot me an email or msg me on facebook if you really are interested. I can give you the contact info for the rental company we used…

I ran across your blog while explaining lighthouses to my grandson. I would love to have the rental company info.and town for the house you rented. We had our 1st experience with vacation rental homes this past football season. We used VRBO. It was a GREAT time. We will never rent a motel again, if we need more than 1night.

    Thank you,

Hi Sandee, I can not remember the name of the rental company we used for the house in this post. This house was in Carova in the 4×4 area.

We have been back a few times now, but usually stay in Corolla and use a rental company called Seaside Vacation Rentals.

The Outer Banks are really fun and family oriented. We are going back this year again. 🙂
