Trick Or Treat

I have been out of town for work for almost 2 weeks now and had to miss Trick Or Treat this year.  Really a bummer because I really like to walk Ace around town getting candy and looking at all the cool costumes that people come up with…

Ace kept me in the loop though.  He sent me a picture message showing me what he looked like in his costume, and I wanted to post it here for everyone to see…

Happy halloween!

By the way, I hate this f’ing costume and I don’t want to trick or treat either!

Love,
Ace the giraffe

Would You Give Candy To This Kid?

I found a post about creating your own freaky Halloween pics written by one of my favorite bloggers, Lotus.  So, I decided to try it myself…

What do you think?  Should I try to recreate these looks for Trick Or Treat?  😀

Sacrifices

I have found that part of being a Dad is learning to accept the fact that you will sacrifice some things…

Just a few examples…

  • walking around the house naked
  • having dirty magazines/movies in the house
  • sleeping in to nurse your hang over
  • drinking enough to get a hang over
  • steaming up the car windows in the back seat of the car (unless you are extremely flexible…and/or short…and can maneuver around the car seats, which I am neither)

… you know… all the things that most young, child-less guys do.  😀

Today, however I had to sacrifice something that I won’t be able to do again.  I missed out on something that I will never be able to see again.  The first glimpse of this…

Ultrasound Picture At 21 Weeks

I had to go out of town for work and couldn’t make the appointment.  🙁

We are planning on doing another 3D Ultrasound, and I will not miss that one.  I will take off the whole week if that’s what it takes to guarantee me being there.  😀

The doctor said there is a 95% chance we are having a girl.  Time to start thinking of names, desensitizing myself to pink and purple, buying a shotgun, and memorizing the chorus to this song…. 🙂

The Pumpkin Patch

Over the weekend we went to the pumpkin patch to get Ace his pumpkin for Halloween!  Last year we went to Circle S Farms, but this year we decided to go somewhere closer to home…Pigeon Roost Farms.

Over the weekend we had our Indian Summer.  It was a blistering 90+ degrees in October!  Take a sick bald man, a pregnant woman, and a three year old out to the farm and into the sun with about 999 strangers and all of their running and screaming kids, and what do you get?  Three miserable people just trying to find a good pumpkin and get the hell out of there.  😀

It would have been great if Ace was about 5 or 6, but the activities were not geared for kids his age. About the only thing safe for him to do was look at the animals, so that is what we did…

After checking out the animals we did make our way through the soybean field maze…

And by then we were hot, tired, cranky, hungry, and pooped…

We managed to pick out some pumpkins before heading out to the truck and calling it a day….

Next disaster?  Carving these bad boys…  😀

Half Way There…

Did I mention that we were expecting again?  I did, but if you didn’t read closely you would have missed it.

So, yeah!  Twenty weeks in…twenty more to go!

We have been trying since shortly after Ace was born three and a half years ago.  We were successful at making Mr Sperm meet Mrs Egg three times now, but the past two times didn’t quite work out the way we were hoping.

So, now, this third time, we are pretty much in the clear.  Momma is already feeling movement, and we have an ultrasound scheduled for a week from Tuesday.  We should be able to find out the sex of the baby…if it cooperates.  😀

I won’t get to go however because I have to go to Dayton for training for work.  Big bummer!  But I asked Momma to make sure to tell the Ultrasound Tech to print plenty of pictures…and of course I will share them here on the blog as well.

So there it is…the official announcement.  Twenty more weeks to go!  It will be here before we know it…
