The other night we packed up and headed down to the local minor league baseball stadium for Ace’s first baseball game! We were greeted by swarms of fans, the smell of hot dogs and popcorn, and a night full of the All American Past Time…Baseball!
Ace, of course, could care less about the actual game, but was too busy eating Goldfish and smiling at the old ladies. 😀
We actually went for one of our friend’s kid’s birthday party, so after the second inning all the kids there for the party got to go out into left field and do the chicken dance with the cheerleaders. So there I am, out in left field with Ace (and the cheerleaders 😀 ) helping him flap his wings, shake his butt, and clap like a drugged up chicken.
Here are some pics of Ace’s first baseball game…
Ace figuring out his new cow bell…
I think he’s got it figured out…anyone have any Tylenol?
Gotta teach this boy right…any babseball game requires the consumption of at least one hot dog. 😀
The Chicken Dance (I’m the one squatted down using Ace as a puppet, cause I don;t do the chicken dance, but I sure can make Ace do a killer rendition of it. 😀 )
Ace and I walking off the field after getting our groove on…
(NO) More cowbell! I love how being a dad gives you a reason to be on the field with cheerleaders, or at Hooters.
@BusyDad –
There was always a reason, now there is just an excuse. 😀
Aw! Go Clippers! I can’t wait until the new stadium is built. It’s going to be nice.
@Momo Fali –
I know right…The seats are so small that my knees get crammed into the seat in front me. And it’s not like I am freakishly tall or anything… 😀
The first song my girls new from beginning to end was “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”…Followed by “My bologna has a first name…” Oops, you shouldn’t leave Dad in charge of the bed time entertainment 🙂
@OhCaptain –
I used to put Ace to sleep by singing the Beverly Hillbillies song. Don’t know why, but that song worked like a charm. 😀 Momma thought I had lost my mind.
It looks like a GREAT time..but a cow bell?? That was asking for a headache..lol
@Kim –
Haha! Wasn’t my idea. There were five birthday parties which consisted of about 50-60 kids all in this small area. Each kid had a cow bell…sounded like a damn stampede. 😀
I love the “FIRSTS”. The first time your kid enjoys, discovers, participates in something that you love. A tradition, a sport, a habit. It’s so good.
@Big Bad Daddy –
Firsts are cool, but some of the lasts are even cooler. Last can of formula, for example, has been my favorite last thus far. 😀
I’m not a huge baseball fan, but there is something about taking my sons to see a baseball game. It’s the coolest thing.
I’ve been a lurker of yours for a while, so I was pleased to see that you stopped by my blog. Great to “meet” you!!
@Bunchy –
Thanks for visiting Bunchy! I’m not a big fan of watching live sports, but it was pretty cool!
