Man, things have been unusually boring around here. No excitement. No drama. It’s nice! Just Momma, Ace, and me living our sheltered little lives. 🙂
I guess that is a good thing. It’s better than being bombarded with bad luck.
Well, there is one exciting thing in the child development forefront…Ace has started to stand on his own!
After nine months he has gained the strength and balance to successfully stand in place on his own two feet. Not for a very long period of time (about 10 seconds), but damn is it cool! He acts like no big deal, but I get so excited and usually scare him to death (which makes him fall down). 😀
I guess he is close to being considered a toddler? Momma will be sad. Her little baby is growing up… 🙁
I say, keep it up little man! In no time at all we will be hiking across the wilderness of our backyard on the hunt for those creepy crawly little bugs that we can capture in a mason jar.
Momma looooves bugs, so we will definitely have to bring them inside to show her how good of hunters we are!
Uh-Oh.. Your baby is growing up, better get momma wanting another one.. LOL
Congrats on the advancement to being a Toddler Dad, you will never rest again.. LOL
Yup, we are not preventing another one at the moment. Not really “trying”…just not preventing. 🙂
Oh man, keeping him out of things now that he can crawl real good is a workout. Now that he can stand and will be walking soon I have to baby proof the house another foot or so above the ground. What is a guy supposed to do with all of the non-baby safe stuff? 😀 I guess I’ll just add it to the box I’ve started in the basement. 😀
Wait…did I read that correctly? Momma loves bugs? What boy doesn’t dream of a Mom like you?!
Well done to Ace WTG!! 🙂

you may consider Ace a baby up until hes 18 months old
I think thats always nice
I enjoyed holding on to my Little Mans babyhood just a bit longer
however those days to come will be wonderful too
@Momo: Sorry my sarcasm did not translate through to words. Momma hates bugs. 🙂 I come home from business trips to find upside down tupperware all over the house waiting for me to dispose of whatever bug may be trapped underneath. 😀
@Jen: Momma will be glad to hear that he is officially a baby until 18 months. Thanks for the link as well!
Wow, congrats to Ace! Hazel hits the seventh month mark this weekend and I can’t wait for her to gain her “sea” legs.
Entomology in my wife’s eyes is placing a cup or glass on top of an insect invader until I return home to squash it…I usually set them free…shhhh.
my wife and kids will put a room in lockdown until I come home to hunt down what ever bug they saw. Which by the way is long gone by the time I get there. Jayme my 8 year old, screamed like she was being beat to death in the shower because there was a mosquito in the shower with her. She took the shower curtain and rod with her when she came running out.
Your excitement freaking him out and making him fall down is one funny picture! “aw dad! you totally messed up my concentration!!”
@John: It’s the coolest thing to see! Ace tends to hit his head a lot more now though when he falls. The other night he had a big knot on his eyebrow. Then the next day he had a slight black eye. Part of growing up, I guess… 🙂
@Joe: It’s a secret with me..I won’t tell. 🙂
@Johnny: Holy cow! I hope the shower curtain was not hurt. 🙂 Just kidding…
@BD: Yup. I’m sure if he could talk he would be like, “Dang it Dad! Calm down! I almost had it! Geesh!”
